Next year has to be better..right?

The last few weeks in our household has been nothing but interesting. Things have been going well. No illnesses, no flu. Well that all changed in the beginning December. One of my girls kept scratching her head but never really complained about anything. We had gnats in our house from plants that loved to attach to our hair. One morning she asked me to scratch her head because if really itched. I did a little more investigating & saw little bugs in her hair. Not knowing what headlice looked like we took her to the Doctor. We suspected that & my worst fear was confirmed. So off we went to get the shampoo. Cleaning, cleaning & more cleaning. Luckily only one of us got it. So we got that finally done & the other daughter got the flu. Fever, can't breathe, throwing up. Then my husband & I got colds. I couldn't breathe at all. All I wanted to do was poke a needle in my head to release the pressure. I know not a pretty site but dang it I would have felt alot better. I also was coughing up my lungs. I sounded like a wounded seal.

I didn't mention that my mother in law was hosting Christmas Eve at our house. We have ourgrown hers. I think people were scared to come to our home.

The Thursday before Christmas, we dame home to pick up the girls from my mother in law. The same one that had the flu came up to me & said ' I think I have pink eye". ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Well sure enough. Her eyes were puffy like someone had punched her in both eyes. Constantly watering. I felt so bad for her. She told me even her eyelids hurt. Luckily we had drops. Word got out through the family about pink eye. I heard they were threatening to wear face masks to my house. I believe everyone came away unscathed.

Like I said i hope the new year is better than the end of this one. Wishing everyone a lice free, flu free, & pink eye free NEW YEAR.

Sorry to hear, that you had to go through all this during the end of 2011. I know all too well about the thought of head lice. They are no fun to have around. My oldest son had gotten it not once but, twice back when he was in kindergarten when we were living in S.C. We live out here in the state of Az. Thank God above, that he hasn't gotten it again. I too, hope, that this year is a better one for my sons and I as well. So far, it's not starting off to be a good one but, this is only the month of January. So, I'll see how the rest of this year will go. I can only pray, that it will be a better one for us.
